Trustee (Various Skills – Finance, Fundraising, Safeguarding, HR/Legal)

All Wheel Drive Response North East

All Wheel Drive Response North East (AWDRNE) is a small, registered charity based in North Tyneside, supporting communities across Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham and Cleveland.

We’re looking for a few new volunteer Trustees to join our board and help guide the charity as it grows.

AWDRNE’s volunteers provide practical help during severe weather, emergencies and community events, as well as running free First Aid Awareness sessions for families, community groups and young people.

As a Trustee, you’ll play an important role in helping to shape how we operate, plan future activities, and make sure the charity continues to run safely, effectively and for public benefit.

You don’t need to be a charity expert, just someone who cares about community support and has ideas or experience to share.

We’d especially welcome people with skills or interest in:

- Finance or bookkeeping

- Fundraising or sponsorship

- Safeguarding and welfare

- HR, legal or governance

Full induction, support and optional VODA trustee training are provided. Meetings are friendly, inclusive and flexible, usually quarterly, in person or online.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d like to help, but I’m not sure how,” this could be the perfect way to start.

About All Wheel Drive Response North East

All Wheel Drive Response North East (AWDRNE) is a registered charity that supports communities across the North East through emergency response, voluntary support, and free training. Our core work is providing volunteer 4x4 response during severe weather, emergencies, and local incidents, helping people and organisations when normal access is difficult. We also offer first aid awareness courses for families, children, schools, and community groups – giving people the skills and confidence to act in an emergency. We deliver community support by providing first aid cover at small events, assisting vulnerable people, and working with partner organisations to improve safety and resilience. Through projects like Cedarwood Trust markets, NEETs training, and library sessions, we reach a wide range of residents. AWDRNE is run entirely by volunteers, including responders, community helpers, and trustees. We also provide opportunities for local people to volunteer, gain skills, and build confidence through training and involvement in charity activities. Our aim is simple: to support those in need, strengthen community resilience, and make the North East a safer place for everyone.
