North East Museums (formerly Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums)

Are you interested in gaining some experience of working in a learning team within a museum or interested in volunteering to support our learning team?

If so then we'd love to have you join our team!

We are looking for people to support with the following:

Delivery of school workshops- supporting children to take part in different activities

Setting up and tidying away after school workshops and under 5's sessions

Prepping resources for school and family activities

Delivery of our under 5's sessions

Delivery of family activities during the school holidays- on Thursdays

Working outside on the woodland walk to support family and school activities

Good to know:

Accessible - step free entrance, level access throughout, accessible loos, seating available. Ground may be uneven when working outside on woodland walk and there are steps down and up on parts of this.

School workshops, Family activities and under 5's sessions can be noisy. Sometimes these activities will take place around the museum too, where it can get loud.

16 plus age limit.

English Language level needed:

Understand times and dates

Follow simple instructions

Have short simple conversations

Understand detailed instructions with 2 or 3 parts

What skills do I need?

Confident speaking to children and adults

Able to use initiative and work well with others (you will support our members of staff)

Keen to get involved in different tasks
