Stephenson Steam Railway - Waggonway Tea Room - Tea Room Assistants

North East Museums (formerly Tyne & Wear Archives and Museums)

The tearoom is the welcoming face of the museum, serving hot drinks, cakes, sandwiches, soup and much more to visitors throughout the day.

Tasks

Tearoom volunteer’s work in groups of two to four; working the till, making hot drinks, serving food and washing up. Working in the tearoom is a great way to meet new people and there are many skills, such as dealing with customers and food preparation, to be learnt.

Good to know

Stephenson Steam Railway tea rooms is a fast paced volunteer led environment.

This role is for those aged 16 plus.

English Language requirements: 

For this role you need to be able to understand, speak and read detailed instructions

What skills do I need?

Communication and people skills, confidence.

Experience in a similar environment a bonus, but not essential.
