Volunteer Lifeboat Operations Manager - Tynemouth

What you will be doing 

  • Provide leadership of the operations team
  • Ensure that all operational activities are carried out to maintain the lifeboats and all associated equipment in a constant state of readiness for launching on service
  • (Optional) Authorise launch of the lifeboats
  • This role has a tenure of 3 years which can be extended to a maximum of 9 years

What skills do I need?

What you need for this role 

  • Team player
  • Good communicator
  • Extensive People Management and Change Management experience (essential)
  • Local maritime knowledge (desirable)
  • Maritime background (desirable)
  • IT literate (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the RNLI (desirable)
  • You must live or work within 20 minutes of the station and be between 18 and 70 years of age (if authorising the launch of lifeboats).

Potential time commitment: Flexible with weekly requirements. This role has a tenure of 3 years and requires review on an annual basis. Tenure can be extended to a maximum of 9 years.
