Roots for Change UK
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic volunteer to support basic and intermediate English language learning for adults and young people in the community. The volunteer will help learners develop their confidence in speaking, reading and writing English through informal lessons, conversation practice and practical activities adapted to different levels and needs.
The role may include preparing simple learning materials, supporting small group sessions, offering one-to-one mentoring and encouraging learners to improve their communication skills in everyday situations such as work, education and daily life.
Volunteers should have some previous experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or supporting learning activities, preferably with people from diverse backgrounds. Patience, empathy and good communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, values cultural diversity and would like to make a positive impact within the community.
