Family Gateway

Howdelicious, ‘Food with a Social purpose ‘is a community café based at Howdon Hub, serving affordable and nutritious food to our community. As our Howdelicious volunteer you would be an integral part of our staff team providing a friendly and welcoming environment where people can socialise and enjoy a cuppa and some delicious ‘home cooked’ food.

Duties include:

Set up/clear away ‘front of house’

Display products on sale, replenish stock as/when required.

Support chef with food prep.

Welcome customers

What skills do I need?

Well presented with a friendly and cheerful persona.

Ability to work as a team.

Good communication skills (oral &written)

Good time management skills.

Basic numeracy skills.

Basic knowledge of food preparation.

Basic knowledge of food hygiene.

An awareness of health & safety issues in a kitchen/café environment.

Supports families in the local communities to overcome barriers that they may be facing so that they can feel empowered to make long lasting and meaningful changes for themselves and their family.

Our cafe is open 9-6 monday to friday so can be flexible with hours.
